PAC directs ministries to present railway action plan

KATHMANDU, JUL 26 -
Public Account Committee (PAC) on Tuesday directed Ministry of Labour and Transport, Ministry of Physical Planning and Work and Ministry of Finance to present their action plan on the operation and maintenance of Railway Corporation within 15 days.
The directive was issued after the Ministry of Labor and Transportation failed to comply with the repeated directives over the concerned issue, PAC Chairman Ram Krishna Yadav informed.
The meeting has also decided to summon secretaries of Physical Planning and Works, Finance and concerned ministries in the next meeting slated for August 11.
Labour and Transportation Management Minister Mohammad Istiyak Rai, Secretary of Labour and Transport Ministry Dinesh Hari Adhikari and General Manager of Railway Corporation Anil Gurung were present in Tuesday's meeting.
The committee had repeatedly summoned Minister Rai in the meetings to discuss the operation and investment, among other issues, of the railway corporation but he had been skipping them.
