CoAS Gurung to leave for Singapore

KATHMANDU, JUL 26 -

Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chhatra Man Singh Gurung is all set leave for Singapore to take part in a conference of Armies Chiefs Conference that is due to be held on July (28 to 31).

Gurung is embarkign on the visit at a joint invitation by Chief of Staff of US Army General Martin E. Dempsey, Chief of Army of Singapore Armed Forces, Major Genral Chan Chun Sing.

According to a press statement issued by the Army Headquarters, Gurung would be showing his presence at the conference which is aimed at “the improvement of the infantry through multilateral security aid”.

The conference would dwell on the issues of the security and other current affairs of the Asia-Pacific through bilateral and multilateral talks.





Gurung is set to hold discussions with the Army Chiefs and representatives of US, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Canada, South Korea, Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore.



In the meantime, Gurung is also participating in various programmes to be organised as part of the 35th Pacific Armies Management Seminar (PAMS - XXXV).
